Knowledge and Iman

Let us think about HOW MUCH DO WE KNOW ABOUT OUR RELIGION. What is the real meaning of the kalimah you utter at least 9 times a day, syahadah. Do you know what will happened in the day of judgement? Do you know what Allah says in the Quran? Some of us including me dont really know the message contained in the Quran. It is quite sad and strange to say that you believe in something but you dont know what you believe in.

Islam is a Deen based on knowledge. Not just by blind following. Those who practice without knowledge would be easily fooled by shaitan. You need to have sound knowledge and understanding about the religion to be able to do ibadah properly. Without knowledge, will you be able to differentiate between halal and haram? I always heard that an ibadah by an alim is better than by an abid. Apart from making a lot of ibadah, it is necessary for us to increase our knowledge about the religion if we want to increase our iman



Since Ramadhan is coming, I think it is a good point for us to start increasing our knowledge about Islam by reading dan understanding the meaning of Quran everyday during the most blessed month. Ramadhan Mubarak. May Allah allow us to meet the next Ramadhan.
