please follow the rules for your safety

Last summer I had an opportunity to do intern with a company in Malaysia. Their main business is supply'in electricity. The experience there was very wonderful. People are very nice and helpful. Lots of the older tehcnician loves to give advise to me. One of the most typical advise is " When you become an engineer in the future, never look down at us. Please treat us as human, we have feeling too" Yeah I agree with them. Who wants to work in a very bad boss? Anyway, a boss should know when you need to be kind and when to be a 'tiger'.

There are few things that I observed need to be improved if the company wants to be the top company in Malaysia. The safety awareness amongst the staff is very low. The boss does not provide enough safety kits. I heard a complain form a technician that the boss always ask them what is their size but never gives the thing. On the other hand, I it very rare to see the technicians wear full safety kits during working. I understood that it quite 'renyah' but it is not trivial. More worrying is, sometimes they just sit at the back of the truck. It is very dangerous because you are exposed to many potential hazards and if the driver suddenly breaks, you might fall off the truck. I would like to call those who are involved such job to be more aware of your safety and take all security measures required. If something happen, "mereka dan keluarga mereka juga yang susah".
