I know that it is recommended for every Muslim to make dzikir such as Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah, Allahu akbar, istighfar, salawat to Nabi, remembering death etc. Dzikir is the easiest form of ibadah. Even though it is very simple, the reward is very big. I heard that for every subhanallah, a tree will grow in the heaven for us.
It is very important for us to remain aware of our purpose life in this world and maintain the connection with the Lord. Only Him can save us. Allah will be close to whoever going towards Him and far from those who keeps away from Him. Those who are close to Allah will be given sakinah in his heart.
However I found that it is difficult to be consistent in the remembrance of Allah. Every day, the worldly thing around me keep distracting me from making dzikr. As a result, my heart feels empty. Oh Allah, put me in the group of people who you love!

Would you like to attend gatherings of Shadhili, Sammani and Naqshabandi that are open to all. The Shadhili has one every Tuesday at Barking, the Sammani every Thursday (i.e. Friday night) (and some Saturday nights too) at the mosque close to FOSIS Hostel (I forget the area's name), and the Naqshabandi has it every first Saturday every month at Seven Sisters, and some other days during the week.
I believe there are plenty more such places in London, and students staying in London are so lucky; they will find they are so spoilt of choices!
